The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur, has released a notification for the recruitment of 312 Assistant Staff Nurse posts under Advertisement No. 12/2026. The post is in the Department of Medical Education and Research, Himachal Pradesh, and will be filled over a period of five years.This notification was issued on July 23, 2026, while the online application process will start on July 30, 2026, at 10 am. Eligible candidates can submit Online Recruitment Application (ORA) through official portal till August 29, 2026, at 11.59 pm.Eligibility and job descriptionRegistration is open only to women who wish to join the service. Applicants must have a B.Sc. Nursing degree with minimum 50 percent marks or GNM/A-Grade Nursing Diploma with 50 percent marks.Candidates should also register at Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC), Shimla-06. The notification states that applicants must be Himachali Bonafide candidates. They must also have passed Class 10 and Class 12 from institutions located in Himachal Pradesh, although these courses are not applicable to Bonafide Himachalis.The age limit for registration is 21 to 45 years, with January 1, 2026, as the last date for age calculation. Age relaxation will be applied in accordance with state law.Application fee is optionalCandidates from all categories, including General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, BPL, WFF and PwBD, are required to pay an application fee of Rs 800. A processing fee of Rs 100 will be charged for processing the submitted applications at the processing window, which will be opened four days after three days from the last day of work.The selection process includes Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR written test, followed by document verification, preparation of final merit list and verification of medical fitness.The test plan is the application planThe mock test will consist of 120 multiple choice questions out of 120 marks and will last 90 minutes. The paper will have questions from Nursing, General Knowledge, Himachal Pradesh General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English and General Hindi.Candidates must score at least 45 percent in General category and 40 percent in SC, ST, OBC and WFF categories to qualify.Applicants can apply through the HPRCA portal by completing the One Time Registration, filling the online application form, selecting their preferred region and submitting the application fee before the last date. Candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend of Rs 25,000.
