PEOPLE reported that Michael Gledhill, who is the main defendant in the murder of James Handy, has been found unfit to stand trial by court. Since the June 3 incident, Gledhill had been in custody and bond had been set at $2 million for his release.A hearing was held on Monday; however, he was not present, according to reports shared by his public defender. The documents revealed that he was “apparently denied transportation.” The trial was still held without him, and the judge later ruled that Michael is unfit to stand trial and approved medication for him in prison. A statement said: “He is currently not competent to stand trial. Psychotropic medication is being granted and may be injected as the psychiatrist deems appropriate.”On June 3, after receiving a 911 call, the actor was found by Los Angeles police on his front lawn in Tarzana, “unconscious and with a stab wound to the chest.” The call authorities received was allegedly made by Gledhill, who said, “I am the son of man, I have just killed the man of sin” at the time.Wendy Gledhill, Michael’s mother and Handy’s girlfriend, later revealed that her son had been diagnosed with schizophrenia for years and had been regularly taking medication to manage his condition. However, in the weeks before Handy’s murder, he had stopped taking his medication. In another California Post report, he had stated, “I’m just trying to take it one day at a time, one minute at a time.”

In another interview with the Daily Mail, Wendy had recited what the last moments of the actor’s life were. She shared: “James had got up to get the paper around 9 o’clock but he didn’t make the coffee like he usually does.
