Despite the excitement surrounding Arijit Singh’s latest track ‘Yeh Awarapan’, his manager has clarified that the singer will not be singing on air again.The song is Singh’s first release in months after announcing his withdrawal from accepting new airplay assignments earlier this year. However, his manager has denied that this song is his comeback. “He has just completed the projects that were finalized before his retirement was announced. Arijit is not making a comeback in playback singing. Those are old commitments,” his handler told The Print. Composed by Amaal Malik with lyrics by Rashmi Virag, Yeh Awarapan is slated to release on July 21 on music streaming platforms.The song also marks a reunion between Singh and producer Vishesh Bhatt, whose banner Vishesh Films is backing Awarapan 2. Their previous collaboration was Pal from the 2018 film Jalebi. Over the years, Singh has delivered several memorable songs for Vishesh Films, including Tum Hi Ho Aashiqui 2Muskurane from CityLights and the title tracks from Khamoshiyan and Hamari Adhuri Kahani.directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, Awarapan 2 will hit theaters on August 14. Besides Hashmi, the film features Disha PataniShabana Azmi, Mrs Atul Kumar in key roles.Singh had announced his retirement from playback singing in January through an Instagram post, thanking listeners for their support over the years. In the note, he wrote: “Hello, Happy New Year everyone. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that from now on I will not be taking on any new assignments as a playback vocalist. I am canceling it. It has been a wonderful journey.“‘Awarapan 2’ will release in theaters on August 14.
