One of the most talked about aspects of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is the return of the two original Avengers, Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans. While Downey has taken on the new face of the main antagonist as Dr. Doom, Evans is making his official return as Captain America, and fans can’t wait to see the actor back on the big screen in perhaps one of his most beloved roles. During one of his recent interviews, the actor talked about returning to the sets of the MCU after so long and how filming “Doomsday” took him all the way back to 2011 when they shot the first “Avengers” movie.

While talking about his return as Captain America in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Chris Evans looked back on his journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and how it all felt when he joined the franchise. While talking to Entertainment Weekly about his big comeback, Evans revealed that he felt like he was back on the set of 2011’s ‘Avengers.’He added: “It was almost like going back to 2011 with the first Avengers, because at the beginning of it, you’re kind of the guy on the block and you’re excited to even be there.”Speaking more about how emotional it would be on set, Evans shared, “I would find myself watching the movie. You’re in the scene, but then you’re like, ‘Robert Downey Jr. play Tony Stark! F—, I’ve got a line.’ And in this one, I kind of felt that again, just seeing you do this thing that I couldn’t wait to see.”Chris Evans last reprized his role in the 2019 film, ‘Avengers: Endgame’. He first appeared as Captain America in 2011, which was followed by his second feature film, ‘Avengers’, which was released in 2012.

During the same interview, the famous actor Downey, who played Tony Stark, or Iron Man, in the MCU for years, influenced his return in a different role. Comparing the two, the actor commented that: “There’s a science thing, and they’re considered pretty bright guys, but Tony had the trauma that made him a hero and Doom had the exact opposite, where it takes the skill of all these people to go up against him, and that was a joy to watch.“

Simu Liu will also be seen in the upcoming film as Shang-Chi. The original cast of ‘X-Men’ is also slated to move into the ‘Doomsday’ universe.Ahead of the release of “Avengers: Doomsday,” Tom Holland and Zendaya’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is scheduled to open worldwide in a few days. The film will explore a whole new Peter Parker for Tom Holland as he navigates a world where no one remembers who he is.
