TNPSC batch 1 notification 2026: Check direct link, important dates and how to apply
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released Group 1 Notification 2026 for Combined Civil Services Examination-I on its official website. This information was issued on June 23, 2026, to be recruited for various posts of Group 1, including the Deputy Correspondent, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes), Assistant Director of Rural Development, District Employment Officer and Assistant Commissioner of Labor.The TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on September 6, 2026. Aspirants can apply online through the official website.According to the notification, online registration will start on June 30, 2026, and the last date for submission of applications and payment of fees is July 29, 2026. The commission is yet to announce the number of applications.The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages – Preliminary Test, Main Test and Interview. Candidates must qualify each phase to advance to the next phase. Final selection will be based on performance in Main Examination and Interview.Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Some positions have additional preferences based on educational qualifications and experience.The minimum age to apply is 21 years. The upper age limit varies by post and category. For most posts, the cutoff age is 34 years for general candidates and 39 years for selected candidates. Age relaxation will be applicable as per TNPSC rules.For the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police and District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services), candidates must also meet the standards related to height, chest measurement and weight.The application fee includes a one-time registration fee of Rs 150, valid for five years. Candidates have to pay Rs 100 for Preliminary Exam and Rs 200 for Main Exam. Other categories, including SC, SC(A), ST, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Widows, are exempted from paying the fee.The Preliminary Exam will consist of 200 type questions carrying 300 marks and will be conducted for 3 hours. Candidates who qualify the preliminary stage will appear in the Main Examination, which includes the Tamil Eligibility Test and three General Studies papers. The recruitment process will end with an interview that is worth 100 points.Candidates will be placed under Pay Level 22 and will receive a salary ranging from Rs 56,100 to Rs 2,05,700, along with other government allowances and benefits.
