Controversy surrounding the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) assistant professor exam has intensified. In particular, a student from the Tamil department who scored 111 out of 150 in the objective test was given a zero in the essay section,” he said.He said some of the lowest scorers in the successful papers were awarded 49 out of 50 marks in the descriptive section, which significantly changed the final rankings.Asked about the assessment, the former chief minister said, “This shows biased and biased assessment,” adding that it was difficult to understand how a person who scored more than 100 marks in the objective paper could get a zero in the explanatory section, or vice versa.He said years of mismanagement have left 50 percent of assistant professors and several senior positions vacant. He said that this has contributed to the drop in the enrollment rate in higher education from 51.4 percent in the AIADMK government in 2019-20 to 47 percent.The party has urged the Tamil Nadu government to immediately cancel the results of the TRB assistant professor examination and called for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities. It also demanded strict action against anyone found guilty.The recruitment was held last December after a gap of almost 25 years. According to TRB sources, 42,064 candidates took the test, which included a 150-objective section and a 50-question paper.
