As a filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani gearing up for his streaming debut with ‘Pritam And Pedro’, has broken his silence on the swirling rumors of an upcoming film with Ranbir Kapoor while also offering a much-awaited update to the much-anticipated sequels of ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Munna Bhai’.

Reports had been doing the rounds for some time that Rajkumar Hirani was developing a film based on the life of an athlete, with Ranbir Kapoor. Some reports even suggested that the project had been pushed to 2027 due to scheduling conflicts and an unfinished script. However, the director has now put those rumors to rest.Speaking to News18, Rajkumar Hirani said, “No, I am not doing anything with Ranbir right now. But I would like to work with him again. I read reports that we are doing a film. Many times, I look at the newspapers and know about the films that I am doing, which makes me wonder ki abb yeh kahan se a)!”Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor previously collaborated in ‘Sanju’, the acclaimed biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt.
Rajkumar Hirani Talks ‘3 Idiots’ Sequel and ‘Munna Bhai 3 ‘
Fans of Rajkumar Hirani’s most beloved franchises will be delighted to know that both the sequel to ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Munna Bhai 3’ are indeed in development. However, the filmmaker made it clear that his release dates depend entirely on when the scripts are ready.He said, “Everything is in the writing stage at the moment. Both films will happen. But it all depends on when the scripts are ready.”
