Kawasaki India has launched the new 2026 Ninja 500 motorcycle priced at Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom), an increase of Rs 10,000 over the previous model. The update brings E20 fuel compatibility and a new lime green color option, while the mechanicals of the motorcycle remain unchanged. Priced at Rs 5.76 lakh, the Ninja 500 is significantly more expensive than its closest rival, the Aprilia RS 457, which is priced in the range of Rs 4.22 lakh to Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom). The main reason for the higher price is that the motorcycles are imported as Completely Built Units (CBU). Import duties as well as tax structure applicable to motorcycles above 350cc help its premium positioning in the market. This announcement also puts to rest recent speculation that the Ninja 500 will be discontinued due to non-compliance with the E20 standard. Interested customers can book the bike online or visit their nearest dealer. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. Powering the Ninja 500 is the same 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 45hp at 10,000rpm and 42.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and assisted slipper clutch. The motorcycle continues to use a steel trellis frame, telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Suspension travel is rated at 120mm front and 130mm rear. Braking duties are handled by 310mm front discs and 220mm rear discs, backed by dual-channel ABS.Feature highlights include a Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument panel and full LED lighting. Dual-channel ABS remains the only rider assistance system on offer, with no additional electronic aids. The Ninja 500 rides on 17-inch wheels shod with Dunlop Sportmax tires measuring 110/70-R17 at the front and 150/60-R17 at the rear. The seat height is 785mm and the curb weight is 171kg with the 14-liter fuel tank full.
