NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has termed as “false, baseless and malicious” media reports about tampering of records of its members and students, including examination papers. The agency said there was no breach in its database and urged stakeholders not to rely on unconfirmed information posted online.In an official statement, ICAI said the allegations have raised concerns among students, members and other stakeholders. It also clarified that there had been no data breach “regardless of what is being reported or not” and reiterated its commitment to protecting corporate data.ICAI encourages stakeholders to rely on communication with the governmentThe organization has advised the students, members and other concerned persons not to accept the alleged false and misleading information on social networking sites. It asked the stakeholders to only use the official messages provided by ICAI for information and updates.
