MUMBAI: Using AI to create learning materials for the MA Psychology program offered by Mumbai UniversityThe Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) has been criticized and ridiculed by students on social media. The university, however, has stated that the rate of such use is less than 10% and that “it is also mentioned in the textbooks and content creators”. However, it has established a committee to verify and review the content.A student shared the MA psychology semester IV course on Social Problems (Skills and Interventions), with the words ‘MU is now using ChatGPT to create content for CDOE psychology students’ saying why students are not at work. The study said that ‘the invention was developed under the supervision of H Naik using AI technologies’.MU, in its statement, however, said that, “It has been made clear that the use of these AI tools was limited to purposes such as speech control, language reformulation, improving the coherence and readability of the content, and providing editorial assistance. The extent of such use is said to be less than 10 percent, according to the approved guidelines provided by the UGC guidelines, including the UGC approved guidelines. It also explained that the materials prepared in this program are as a self-study guide and it is not considered a book. However, in order to properly verify and evaluate all aspects of the matter, the CDOE has established a committee. The committee is currently investigating what is needed, and other actions are being taken accordingly.
