Who was Chanchal Bharti? NEET aspirant, 19, dies by suicide after re-examination; the police found the manuscript
A 19-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, police said on Tuesday. The deceased, Chanchal Bharti, was a resident of Chaupariya Kanchanpura village.According to his family, Chanchal has been depressed ever since he went for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) retake on June 21. The police said he was depressed after the test.His relatives found him unconscious at home while they were busy with their usual work. He was immediately taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Kotwali Station House Police Officer Nirbhay Singh said the police recovered the NEET question booklet from the premises. The handwritten message in the booklet was, “I can’t do anything my brother.”The pamphlet and the suspected suicide note have been seized. The SHO said forensic and handwriting tests would be conducted to verify the message.Police said Chanchal’s father worked as a tailor and continued his children’s education despite financial difficulties. His family described him as a good student and said they had high hopes for his future.The body has been sent for post-mortem. The police said that all aspects of the case are being investigated and other cases are underway.
