‘The Conjuring’ franchise has been a huge hit in the horror genre, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga becoming synonymous with the iconic pair of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The horror universe continues to expand with a prequel film featuring younger versions of these beloved characters. This new addition to the franchise marks another step in the studio’s ongoing effort to explore the origins and early years of the Warren family’s supernatural investigations.According to Dread Central, Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix were cast in the new prequel titled ‘The Conjuring: First Communion’. Actor Wareing, 24, took on the role of young Ed Warren, while Canadian actress Amanda Fix played young Lorraine Warren. Directed by Rodrigue Huart, the prequel film was co-written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. Filming on the feature had begun, and production was progressing on the prequel project.

Amanda Fix brought her own variety of credits to the production. The Canadian actress made her film debut with ‘Broken Diamonds’ in 2021. He appeared in the series “Kung Fu,” “High School,” “Orphan Black: Echoes” and a streaming series this year. She also played the younger version of Gillian Anderson in the upcoming film ‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’, directed by Jane Schoenbrun.

‘The Conjuring: First Communion’ release and expansion of the franchise
The studio has not revealed the story of ‘The Conjuring: First Communion’, but the prequel has already booked a release date of September 10, 2027, ahead of the Halloween season. At the beginning of the year, the studio also premiered ‘La venjança de la Llorona’ in theaters on April 9, 2027, as a sequel to ‘The Curse of Llorona’.The Conjuring universe had grown to include nine films: The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun II, and The Conjuring.
