Thalapathy Vijay‘Jana Nayagan’ witnessed a solid recovery at the box office on its first Saturday. After witnessing a dip on Friday, the action entertainer bounced back with a sharp rise in collections on Day 3.According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 28.50 crore in India on Saturday. This is a 34.8% increase over its Day 2 collection of Rs 21.15 crore.The three-day performance has helped the film move closer to the Rs 100 crore nett mark in India.
India collections close to Rs 100 crore nett
With Saturday’s earnings, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has collected Rs 92.35 crore nett in India in its first three days. The film’s Indian gross now stands at Rs 108.34 crore. Overseas, the Vijay starrer added Rs 20 crore gross on day 3. Its international total has now reached Rs 63.50 crore.Combining the domestic and overseas figures, the film’s worldwide gross has risen to Rs 171.84 crore. The film was screened in 12,299 shows on Saturday.The language collections were led by the Tamil version, which brought in Rs 24.40 crore. The Hindi version collected Rs 2.70 crore, while the Telugu version added Rs 1.40 crore to the overall total.
Employment improves throughout the day
The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 61.04% on Day 3. Morning shows opened to 42.92%, before improving to 59.31% in the afternoon. Evening occupancy increased further to 67.00%, while evening shows reached an impressive 74.92%.The Hindi version recorded an overall occupancy of 16.39%. It opened at 7.08% in the morning before ending the day with 27.00% occupancy during the evening shows.Meanwhile, the Telugu version registered an overall occupancy of 22.58%. Occupancy went from 15.64% in the morning to 30.18% during the final shows of the day.
Tamil Nadu continues to boost collections
Tamil Nadu brought in a gross of Rs 20 crore, making it the highest grossing territory for the Vijay starrer.Among the other regions, Karnataka grossed Rs 4.75 crore, while Rest of India contributed Rs 4 crore. Kerala added Rs 2.50 crore, and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together collected Rs 2.09 crore. These numbers took the film’s Day 3 Indian gross to Rs 33.34 crore.
