Tata Sierra EV teased again: trying to accomplish rare feat!

Tata Motors There is a lot of excitement around the upcoming Sierra EV, which will debut in India on June 30. In the latest trailer, the automaker shows off the electric SUV’s ability to tackle huge sand dunes. A new trailer hints that the Sierra EV will take on Abu Dhabi’s famous Tel Moreeb sand dunes. With a height of over 300 meters and an inclination of approximately 50 degrees, the Tel Moreeb Sand Dunes are considered to be one of the tallest sand dunes in the world. If the trailer is any indication, Tata is trying to prove that the Sierra EV can combine everyday usability with serious off-road capability.The teaser also offers another look at the production-spec Sierra EV. While the overall silhouette is similar to the ICE version, the electric version gets a number of EV-specific styling updates. Up front, the traditional grille gives way to a body-color closed panel spanning the nose. Connected LED DRLs sit above the main headlight unit, while vertically stacked LED fog lamps can also be seen.The rear of the Sierra EV features a full-width LED light bar, sturdy bumper cladding and a silver skid plate. One of the biggest highlights confirmed by the latest teaser is Tata’s four-wheel drive (QWD) technology. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup is expected to be reserved for higher variants, while the lower variants are likely to get a single-motor configuration.Internally, the Sierra EV is expected to be positioned as one of Tata Motors’ most premium electric offerings. Lower versions may feature a dual-screen setup, while higher versions may feature a triple-screen layout, similar to the ICE-powered Sierra. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a power tailgate and a 360-degree camera. Tata is also likely to offer connected car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos support.The Sierra EV is expected to sit between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s electric vehicle portfolio. There will likely be a choice of battery packs, including 55 kWh and 65 kWh units, while top-end models can borrow the Harrier EV’s larger 75 kWh battery pack. Tata may also extend its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) program to the Sierra EV, allowing customers to purchase the vehicle separately from the battery and opt for a subscription-based battery plan.Once launched, the Sierra EV will compete with rivals like Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
