State Bank of India (SBI) will soon close the online application process for Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment 2026. Eligible candidates who have not applied can complete their application through the official portal of SBI before the last date, July 8, 2026.Through this recruitment, SBI aims to fill 1,500 Probationary Officer posts across the country. This includes 1,446 full-time jobs and 54 part-time jobs. The bank also said that the number of jobs is temporary and subject to change based on demand.
SBI PO Recruitment 2026: Eligibility
Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or possess equivalent qualifications recognized by the Central Government.Students in their final year or final semester of graduation are also eligible to apply, as long as they provide proof of passing the exam on or before September 30, 2026, if selected for interview.Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on April 1, 2026. Age relaxation for candidates will be given as per state laws.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories have to pay a fee of Rs 750.Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from fee.
The way to choose
The recruitment process will be conducted in three phases:
- Step 1: Basic online test
- Step 2: Online Senior Tests
- Step 3: Psychometric Tests, Group Exercises and Individual Questionnaires
The first exam is scheduled to take place in August 2026, while the main exam is expected in September 2026. The final selection process is scheduled to take place in October and November 2026.
Fees
Candidates will join SBI as Probationary Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale-I.The starting salary is Rs 48,480, while the average Cost to Company (CTC) in Mumbai Center is around Rs 21.97 lakh per annum. Candidates will also be eligible to receive salary and benefits as per bank regulations.
