Mandisa noticed the initial change after Glover received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Oscars in 2022. “My dad’s story is that he remembers everything up until 1970, what corner he was in, who he was talking to, what they were talking about, what color they were wearing, everything,” Mandisa told the press before her parents were lost. “He would tell you so much about his parents, and I’ve heard these stories over and over, and pieces were missing. Pieces of the story would be missing. I was like, ‘I wonder what’s going on,'” she explained of the early stage. However, these days he does remember his mother, who unfortunately died in a car accident in the 1980s. “Guess what my mom wanted to be? An actress,” she told the outlet.
