Re-NEET 2026: Dharmendra Pradhan urges students to remain fearless amid strict NTA rules
New Delhi: As 22 lakh students across the country gear up for the NEET re-examination, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday urged them to appear fearless, confident, and without stress or pressure.Pradhan, who was speaking at a yoga event held at Delhi University on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, said that he has full and unwavering faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), the government, the district administration, the multi-disciplinary community, and, above all, the students.“Today, about 22 lakh students have sat for NEET after a while. They should be fearless and worry-free. He will definitely do well. My best wishes to the students,” he said.Asking people not to do anything that could affect the health of children, Pradhan said the future of India’s new generation should not be laughed at.“Please do not play with the future of the new generation of India. Do not do anything that may affect the health of the children. After a few hours, the children will appear for the test,” he said.“I request that we do not play with the future of the new generation of India. No one should joke. Nothing should be done that affects the mental health of children. In a few hours, the students will go for tests,” he said.Without naming anyone, the minister said “those who claim to be responsible” on Saturday committed “misdemeanors” that affected children, and urged them not to harm them again.“At least if you are responsible, if you consider yourself as a real citizen of India, if you are representing the people of India, please take responsibility and do not cause anxiety to the children,” he said.Pradhan also said that though the NEET exam will be held on Sunday, the pending CBSE results will also be released soon.“Out of about 17 lakh CBSE students, the results of about 15.5 lakh students are already out. The process for the students who have applied for review, re-evaluation and re-verification is almost over, and CBSE will publish the results soon,” he said.In a message on X, the National Testing Agency (NTA) urged those who will be re-tested to download their new admit cards as soon as possible, saying that the admit card issued for the May 3 exam will not be valid for registration. The board said the admit cards for the re-examination were already available to all eligible candidates on its website and said that “efforts have been made” to inform them through public notices, SMS, emails and WhatsApp messages. However, some candidates were yet to download their admit cards as of 7pm on June 20, it said.“It seems that some people have not received their Admit Cards as of 7:00 PM on 20 June 2026. NTA has also sent the Admit Cards to the Whatsapp numbers of these candidates,” the agency said. The NTA also reminded candidates to enter the entry point from 11 am and close at 1.30 pm, not allowed to enter, and advised them to carry their permit card, valid photo and two large passport size photos, avoid prohibited items, keep water and keep vehicles fast. The NTA has postponed the May 3 NEET-UG 2026 examination after allegedly releasing a paper, the government has asked the CBI to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. The exam will be held on Sunday.
