Prithviraj Sukumaran he will be playing the lead villain in the upcoming SS Rajamouli starrer ‘Varanasi’ Mahesh Babu i Priyanka Chopra. As the film is in the making phase, the Malayalam actor shared the interesting experience on the sets.“Varanasi” is a global adventure thriller helmed by the visionary director of “RRR” which is being shot in different locations around the world. Prithviraj Sukumaran recently revealed that during a particular scene with Mahesh Babu it took almost a day to shoot because Rajamouli was not satisfied with the result.

One shot lasted almost 100 takes

Talking about the scene, Prithviraj Sukumaran said, “This is not an exaggeration. For a particular shot in the film, Mahesh Babu and I started shooting it in the morning. I don’t know if it was taken in 94 or 97. We started work in the morning and came for a lunch break, because he didn’t hit the shot. Just when we thought we were going to have a second bite of food, he called us back to the set. We started again and it continued until 6.30 or 7.00 pm.Even after so many takes, Rajamouli was still not completely satisfied with the shot. He asked the two actors to come back the next day and shoot the same scene again.Also, talking about the ‘Baahubali’ director, Prithviraj Sukumaran called him “the hardest working director” he has ever worked with. He said that the filmmaker always arrived at the shooting location much earlier than everyone else.

He mentioned that when the actor would arrive at a shoot at 7 am, Rajamouli had already completed several rehearsals with his assistants. He had also done the camera setup and finished the planning before the actors came on set.SS Rajamouli also told Prithviraj Sukumaran that he had been there since 5.15am when the actor asked him. When the actor who plays Kumbha in the film also offered to come earlier, the director simply asked him to report at the scheduled call time. He also shared that Rajamouli was usually the last person to leave the set and even the lunch breaks were only about 20 minutes long.
