NEET UG 2026 candidates have been given additional time to complete the fee refund process after the National Testing Agency (NTA) extended the time for bank account verification and verification to July 7, 2026. Candidates can verify or update their bank details on the official portal to ensure proper processing of the exam fee refund.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to extend the last date for NEET UG 2026 candidates to enter their bank details for refund of examination fees. The decision was taken as more than 50% of the eligible candidates failed to provide their bank details till the previous deadline according to media reports. Extensions allow second chance applicants to successfully complete the refund process.

52% of candidates have given bank details

NTA has revealed that till July 14, 2026, only 11,46,401 people have given their bank details. The agency has already started processing refunds for those who have successfully updated their bank account details. Candidates who have not completed the process are advised to submit their details as soon as possible to avoid missing the refund.

Last date for NEET UG 2026 has been extended

NTA has now extended the last date for submission of bank account details to July 31, 2026, till 11:50 pm. The previous deadline was July 14.The extension has been given to ensure that all eligible candidates return their examination fees. Applicants who do not update their bank account details before the revised deadline may face delays in refunds.

Why do you want a refund?

According to reports, the NEET UG 2026 exam was started on May 3, 2026. Due to allegations of paper leak, the exam was canceled and re-conducted on June 21, 2026.In order to ensure that candidates will be paid after the resumption of the examination, the NTA has gone ahead and refunded the examination fees. The refund is transferred directly to the bank accounts provided by the applicant.

Meanwhile, NTA has also released the OMR answer sheets for the candidates who have retaken the NEET UG 2026 exam.The answer sheets are available only through individual login on the official NEET portal. Candidates need to use their application number and password to get their scanned OMR sheet. The agency has advised the candidates to ensure that they enter the correct certificates to avoid problems.The scanned OMR sheets will be released after the provisional answer key is released, allowing candidates to compare their scanned answers before the final key is released.

The results are expected on July 20

The temporary answer key objection window is expected to close soon. After analyzing the challenges given by the candidates, NTA will publish the final answer key.The NEET UG 2026 result of the re-conducted exam is expected to be declared by July 20, 2026. The result will show the admission of more than 20 lakh MBBS candidates in the medical colleges of the country.
