Town & Country reports that among the snaps from Portugal and the UK, one image shows Prince Harry and Prince Archie carrying large bouquets of flowers as Princess Lilibet follows them around the grounds of the Spencer family’s ancestral estate. People pointed out that Diana’s burial site is on an island in the middle of a lake on the estate, suggesting that the bouquets were brought to honor her grave.

This is the second time Harry has taken Meghan to Althorp during a visit to the UK. In September 2022, he took her to the estate, where Diana’s siblings Charles, Sarah and Jane welcomed them to visit their mother’s resting place. That momentous occasion inspired reflections in Harry ‘Spare”s 2023 memoir.

<p>“I led Meg up the path, around a hedge, through the maze. There it was, looming: the grayish-white oval stone. No visit to this place was ever easy, but this… Twenty-fifth birthday. And Meg’s first time. I was finally bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mom,” Harry wrote.<span class=He continued: “We hesitated, hugging, and then I went first. I placed flowers on the grave. Meg gave me a moment, and I spoke to my mother in the head, told her I missed her, asked her for guidance and clarity. Sensing that Meg wanted a moment, too, I went around the hedge, explored the pond. When I came back, Meg was on her knees, eyes closed, palms against the stone.”Coming out of the tomb, Harry remembered asking why Meghan had prayed. “Clarity, he said. And guidance.”

Harry maintains a close connection to the Spencer family and Diana’s legacy

Harry has remained close to his Spencer family over the years. The family maintained their ties, with Diana’s sisters Lady Jane and Lady Sarah McCorquodale reportedly present at Princess Lilibet’s christening in 2023.Harry and Meghan took Archie and Lilibet to meet King Charles at his private country house Highgrove on their recent visit to the UK. Althorp is just over two hours’ drive from Highgrove and both visits were doable during the family’s time in Britain.Having the children there so close to these personal family places indicates Harry’s work to provide opportunities for Archie and Lilibet to engage with their grandfather’s legacy and their grandmother’s memory.
