More than 2.73 lakh candidates have enrolled for undergraduate courses at the University of Delhi (DU) in the academic session of 2026-27, and more than 2.06 lakh are completing the program and filling their preferences for college under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG). The university will release the first seat allotment list on July 16 after the preference window closes on July 13.The information received shows that 2,73,751 people registered on the CSAS-UG portal, of which 2,18,284 completed the registration. Of these, 2,06,835 applicants submitted their applications and college preferences before the last date of Phase II. Female candidates account for the majority of the applicants, who registered 1,20,509 compared to 97,775 males.
Applications are open until July 13
The University of Delhi released the results on July 12 to provide candidates with a guide to their rank based on their CUET-UG 2026 score and the program and college preferences they have submitted.Candidates can update or revise their preferences until 4:59 pm on July 13. After the deadline, preferences will be closed for the first round of seat allocation, which is to be announced on July 16.
BCom (Hons) remains the most sought after programme
The preferences show that business and humanities programs continue to dominate the choices of applicants this year. Candidates have to map the subjects studied in Class 12 and CUET-UG qualifying papers before choosing the right programs and college integration.The ten most popular programs are: BCom (Honours), BCom, BA (Honours) English, BA (Honours) Political Science, BA Program (History and Political Science), BA (Honours) History, BSc (Honours) Zoology, Mathematics, BSc Program (Life Science), and BA (Honours) Economics.
Admission is offered in 67 colleges
The university offers admission to 73 graduate programs and includes more than 100 BA programs in 67 colleges. Admission will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores, based on university admission criteria.Candidates who have been allotted seats in the first row will have to accept the allotment within the notification period. Colleges verify documents before accepting admissions, following which applicants must pay a deposit to secure their seats. Further competitions for allotment of seats will be conducted on the basis of the admission process of the university.The university is also conducting the third round of admissions under the CSAS-PG scheme, where candidates are finalizing seats and other admissions as per the revised scheme.(With inputs from PTI)
