Dhyan Sreenivasan doesn’t want to be AMMA president, but supports Shwetha Menon amid AMMA Row: ‘Leaving when problems arise is not the solution’

actor Dhyan Sreenivasan has clarified its stand on the ongoing discussions surrounding the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). Having recently stated that he has no interest in becoming president of the organization, Dhyan has elaborated on his statements. The actor said that leadership positions within AMMA cannot change overnight through public opinion. He also stressed that current officials should focus on solving existing problems instead of resigning in the middle of their term. Dhyan further said that he personally hopes Shwetha Menonthe current president of AMMA, completes her full three-year term.

Dhyan Sreenivasan says there is due process

As reported by Asianet News, speaking to the media about how his name came up in discussions about the AMMA presidency, Dhyan said, “AMMA is an organization with which my father had a deep emotional connection. I’ve only been a member for a few years. It was when Siddique Ikka became president that I attended an AMMA event for the first time. I have performed with many members of the organization and share close relationships with them. But there is a difference between personal relationships with members and the organization itself. Naturally, when these problems arise within the organization, we also feel sad. Many people suggest different solutions and different groups express different opinions. A few people mentioned my name, and the younger members also mentioned Aju’s. That’s all.”He further said, “Being president is not as simple as people saying my name. There is a proper process. I cannot decide today and be president tomorrow. Currently, there is already an elected president whose term has not ended. The term is three years.”Dhyan made it clear that his name being mentioned by some members should not be interpreted as an indication that he intends to contest for the position.

Dhyan Sreenivasan says walking away when problems arise is not the solution

The actor also shared his opinion on how the current leadership should respond to the challenges facing the organization. He said: “Leaving when problems arise is not the solution. The right approach is to solve the problems and complete the mandate properly. Only after that we should think about what comes next. My personal opinion does not matter here. What matters is whether the administration has failed in its responsibilities.” Personal problems take second place. Have they distributed the pensions on time? Have they continued to pay them every month? Have they provided help to Sanjeevani? Have they provided insurance? If all these welfare measures have continued without interruption, then I think the present commission should continue. The organization exists for the welfare of its members. If there has been any failure in these responsibilities, people can question it. Personal disputes are a separate matter. These issues are already before the courts. However, if the general body no longer has confidence in the current committee, then it may have to resign.”According to Dhyan, the committee’s performance should be judged primarily on whether it has continued welfare activities aimed at AMMA members.Dhyan also spoke in support of Shwetha Menon, saying she came into office with the intention of bringing in positive changes. He said: “Personally, I think Shwetha chechi came in with a sincere desire to bring many positive changes. The very fact that a woman became the president was in itself a historic development. She really wanted to do many good things. If there was no failure in the welfare activities I mentioned above, the problems between the members should have been resolved through discussion. Unfortunately, legal cases and controversies have climbed Let them deal with these issues.”“If Shwetha chechi is still willing to continue working for the organization, then she should remain in office. A new committee will come after the three-year term ends. Interestingly, many of the people who elected the current committee are against it. Whatever decision the General Body takes, we will support it. Personally, though, I want Shwetha chechi to complete her full term. He came into the role with genuine intentions to do good to the organization,” added Dhyan.

We need to focus on the welfare of the members

Dhyan maintained that the organization should be evaluated based on effectiveness with welfare initiatives such as pension, financial assistance and insurance schemes. While acknowledging the controversies surrounding the partnership, the actor said these issues should be resolved through proper channels. He reiterated that the General Council will have the final say on the future of the current management. For now, Dhyan has distanced himself from speculations about assuming the AMMA presidency. On the work front, Dhyan Sreenivasan’s previous hit was ‘Detective Ujjwalan’.
