Corporate Mitra Scholarship initiated by IIT Madras MoU; Registration details will be announced soon
NEW DELHI: The Finance Ministry has announced that the Corporate Mitra scheme, launched in the Union Budget 2026-27, will create a team of trained and certified professionals to assist MSMEs in business management and compliance. This service will facilitate ease of doing business and support Viksit Bharat.The Ministry of Corporate Affairs set up a steering committee after the budget announcement to lay the groundwork for the implementation of the scheme. The regular reviews of the ministry confirmed the cooperation between professional bodies, including ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI, along with IIT Madras. The ministry spearheaded the finalization of guidelines, brochures and the Corporate Mitra logo.Corporate Mitra training details and eligibilityThe program is open to Indian citizens up to 30 years of age who are graduates or students in their final year of graduation. The course includes approximately 150 hours of online learning through expert-led sessions, followed by six months of on-the-job training with professional companies.Certification as a Corporate Mitra will be awarded upon successful completion of training modules and practical training. Candidates will be exposed to accounting, taxation, banking, financial management, legal and secretarial practices, and cost accounting and management.The MoU was signed for deliveryA Memorandum of Understanding was signed on June 25, 2026 between IIT Madras, IIT Pravartak, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI for working on the Corporate Mitra scheme. Corporate Mitra logo was also released on the same day.Academic support for Corporate Mitra courses will be provided by ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI. The scholarship will be offered through the Swayam Plus website to be rolled out across the country. The Ministry of Finance also helped host the courses developed on the platform.Fee structure and registration changesCorporate Mitra training fee is Rs 3000 plus GST. 50% concession will be available to women applicants and candidates from North Eastern States, Himalayan Regions, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.The Ministry of Finance has said that the announcement of opening the Corporate Mitra course will be made soon. The registration process will be available through the website MCA, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI.The program aims to provide sustainable and practical education through vocational schools and educational platforms. Qualified candidates who complete the required modules and training will receive certification as a Corporate Mitra upon completion of the mandate.
