Citroen eC3X has been teased again! What to expect from the updated Punch EV rival

Citroën has released another teaser of its upcoming updated electric hatchback. The updated model is expected to be called the eC3X, following the French brand’s revised naming strategy, which has been adopted on models such as the C3X, Aircross X and Basalt X.The latest teaser suggests that the electric hatchback will get a significant styling update. While the overall silhouette is expected to remain familiar, the updated model will feature a redesigned front bumper along with silver skid plate-style elements. Citroën is also expected to upgrade the lighting package by introducing LED DRLs and LED fog lights, replacing the simpler setup offered on the current eC3.Other exterior changes are likely to include a new set of two-tone alloy wheels and redesigned exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals. The cabin is also likely to benefit from several new additions. The automaker could offer leatherette finishes for the steering wheel and dashboard sections, as well as ambient lighting. Features such as automatic climate control, cruise control with speed limiter, fast-charging USB Type-C port and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror are also expected to be added. The existing 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system is likely to be carried over. It is expected to continue to offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Higher-spec models may also get a 360-degree camera and a new 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster.Under the surface, the updated electric hatchback is not expected to receive any major mechanical revisions. The eC3X will likely retain the existing 29.2 kWh battery pack and be paired with an electric motor that produces 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque. Citroën currently claims a driving range of approximately 320 kilometers on a single charge and a top speed of 107 km/h.Once launched, the updated Citroen eC3X will continue to compete in India’s growing mass-market electric vehicle segment, taking on rivals such as the Tata Punch EV and the newly refreshed Tiago EV.
