Chloe Fineman writes a heartfelt note
With bittersweet feelings, Chloe Fineman expressed her gratitude for being a part of the beloved show. “After 7 wonderful seasons on SNL, I’ve decided it’s time for my next chapter. It’s a cliché to say this, but working on SNL has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t believe I got to be a part of it. I fell in love with the place when I walked in the door,” Fineman wrote in the caption of her post, before adding how she was surrounded by “the best people in the business.“From working on visual effects (VFX) to sewing costumes at the 11th hour, Fineman reminisced about the time he acted and wrote the sketches. “Sewing a Jojo Siwa costume in 10 hours. Writing a cold open at 2pm on a Saturday. Finishing VFX for a video minutes before getting dressed (I don’t know if ‘finish VFX’ is the right technical term, but you get the idea),” she shared.Fineman also wrote about the devastating feeling when producers disapproved of his sketches. In retrospect, the artist now agrees with his decision and claimed that the act titled “Lipstick for Fat Dogs” should have been banned. “You rain out of control when your sketch isn’t chosen. You walk into a producers office telling them they just made the biggest mistake of their lives. You call everyone you know to complain. And then you look back a few years later and it was a sketch called “chubby dog lipstick,” he said, and continued, “But that’s just the show.”Concluding the note, Fineman shared, “It’s really hard to leave SNL, but it feels like the right time. I’m going to miss it so much. But the people who work there are my family and this place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.” And I swear to god one day, sometime in the future, they’re going to make lipstick for fat dogs.”
