The recently held San Diego Comic-Con event has sparked many new developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From Ryan Gosling being cast as the new Ghost Rider to fans getting an all-new Black Panther for the 2028 release, plenty of new projects have been announced. In addition, a new clip for the upcoming Marvel movie ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ was also screened at the event, exclusively for fans. The new clip sparked a lot of excitement, including the return of an old MCU character, as well as more details about the story of Dr. Doom.
About the new images of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
The cast of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ attended the event to promote the film and talk more about upcoming projects. Robert Downey Jr, who last appeared in the MCU film in 2019, will take on the role of Dr. Doom next December. While on stage, Entertainment Weekly reported that Downey took the stage and said, “Decisions are going to have to be made, you’re going to have to side with the good guys, or you’re going to have to consider the alternative…join a family of death. Come to the green side.”The clip and panel also officially confirmed that actress Hayley Atwell will be returning as Peggy Carter in ‘Doomsday’, which will be released in December this year. The trailer also showed more details about the backstory of Dr. Doom and where it came from. Rather than being from one of the main Earths like most other Marvel heroes and villains, Dr. Doom belongs to Earth 818, which is specifically where the “Fantastic Four” group is from.Elsewhere in the clip, Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm, is seen making a montage. She says: “He’s always the smartest man in every world… he used to be different. He used to be kind, he used to be caring… Everything he loved was taken from him… I knew I was lost and I didn’t realize I was broken.” Elsewhere in the footage, Doctor Doom is seen surrounded by his minions, the Sentinels, as he battles Thor, the God of Thunder.The event was attended by Chris Evans, Paul Rudd and Pedro Pascal. Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Hannah John-Kamen, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Danny Ramsey, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Kelsey Grammer and Winston Duke attended. Joe and Anthony Russo also attended the event and told minor stories about the project. Anthony concluded Panel H, stating, “We still have work to do to give you the best doomsday possible, so we’re going to get to work.“
Robert Downey Jr reveals details about ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Robert Downey Jr, who once played Iron Man until his character died in ‘Endgame’, will take on a new role as the villain. Recently, he shared new details about the upcoming Avengers movie. While talking to Entertainment Weekly about all of this, he shared, “There’s a science thing, and they’re considered pretty bright guys. But Tony had the trauma that made him a hero, and Doom had the exact opposite, where it takes the skill of all these people to stand up to him, and that was a joy to watch.“He also shared that one of the characters, which also affected him a lot, adding that, “It was really weird being on the other side of the villain’s mask because it’s such an isolated vibe. I see them all socializing and all that, and I’m the enemy!”‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be released in December this year.
