He is now the latest Jolie-Pitt child to distance himself from the actor by dropping his last name.According to court documents obtained, the 18-year-old is asking to have her legal name changed from “Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt” to “Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.” The reason for this change was listed simply as “personal”.A hearing on the petition is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Following in the footsteps of the brothers
Vivienne’s request to drop her father’s last name comes months after her siblings Zahara and Maddox also went the legal route earlier this year to officially drop Pitt from their last name.In 2024, Shiloh filed a petition to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie. The petition was approved later that year.Meanwhile, Zahara has asked to legally change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie, while Maddox has asked to have his legal name changed to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Hearings on their requests are scheduled for September 28 and 14, respectively.
Although Vivienne has only been using “Jolie” as her last name since 2024, this is her first legal move to officially change her name. She made headlines when she was credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill of the Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” which she helped produce along with her mother.
