According to recent reports, the singer is taking legal action against people who illegally accessed and leaked the content online. Ariana Grande files a complaint against the hackers
The ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me’ singer is officially taking legal action against several people for hacking the accounts of people who worked with her. TMZ reported that he filed the official complaint on Monday, July 27 in California. The report stated that the singer has been a victim of cyber attacks and similar hacking attempts on several occasions and wants to find out all the people involved through this complaint.Unreleased music, photos, videos and audio recordings, among other things, were included in the content leaked online on the dark web. Hackers gained access to the accounts of people who worked with her through illegal means, leading to “blatant illegal theft, dissemination and exploitation of unpublished content.” The report also revealed that all of this content, which was never intended for public consumption, was being sold at high bids on the dark web and has caused “substantial and irreparable harm” to it.The complaint further stated, “In 2023 alone, the defendants hacked, stole, and leaked 45 unreleased songs belonging to Ms. Grande. Since her musical debut in 2011, hundreds of similar leaks have occurred.”
Ariana Grande’s complaint is directed at more than 100 people
The singer’s official complaint lists more than 100 people. These are hackers, people who bought the material online on the dark web, as well as other people and companies accused of illegally distributing their content without permission.PEOPLE reported that Grande wants to take strict action. “The lawsuit is intended to serve as a deterrent against future acts of this nature, not only directed at Ariana, but also the many artists who have faced similar invasions of their privacy and theft of their creative work. Artists deserve the right to control how and when their art is shared with the world. The theft and illegal distribution of creative work undermines that right and should not be tolerated in the report.”The complaint detailed how the hackers gained access to her unpublished content, claiming that on one occasion they gained access to the Dropbox account of a photographer who had previously worked with her. They also created fake email IDs to get technicians to share unpublished photos with them.As of this writing, Ariana Grande has not directly addressed the issue.
