He said, “The controversies surrounding ‘Parasakthi’, its clash with other films, censorship issues and high expectations played a major role in the box office performance of the film.” He further added, “We produced both ‘Parasakthi’ and ‘Idli Kadai’ on a profit sharing model. ‘Parasakthi’ was a big budget film but its box office collections were not up to the expected level compared to the investment.” His comments give a clearer picture as to why the film failed to meet financial expectations despite the hype.

Aakash Baskaran also explained the difference between the two films from a business perspective. He said, “That’s why we couldn’t pay the entire agreed profits for ‘Parasakthi’. But ‘Idli Kadai’ was made on a much smaller budget and turned out to be a profitable venture for us. Hence, we were able to fulfill our commitment and pay Dhanush the full profit share that we had promised.” His statement has drawn attention as he directly compares the financial results of the two projects, highlighting how budget and box office performance affected the final returns.
