Youth Congress to hold lamp rally in Bengaluru, demands resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET row
Youth Congress will hold a candlelight vigil demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation

The Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) on Saturday took an anti-NEET campaign on the streets, holding a lamp rally in Bengaluru and demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper leak.The protest was held at Freedom Park and was led by KPYCC State President HS Manjunath. Hundreds of students and youth participated in the rally, carrying torches and raising slogans against the alleged corruption in the exams and demanding that the investigation should investigate the controversy clearly.

Demonstrations begin at NEET debates

The protestors raised the slogans “Save Future of Students,” “Implementation of Transparent Education System,” “Fair Investigation in NEET Scam,” and “Provide Support to Education.”Addressing the rally, Mr. Manjunath criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government for failing to ensure transparent and credible examinations.“It is the Central Government’s responsibility to establish a transparent, corruption-free, and credible examination system. However, the BJP-led Central Government has failed in that responsibility and has jeopardized the future of 2.3 million students. Also, it is the cause of the death of hundreds of students due to the NEET scam,” he said.He also criticized the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for appreciating Pradhan’s work in the education sector despite the ongoing controversy.“The Prime Minister appreciated the work of the minister who has caused the death of students due to the question paper leak. He did not even offer condolences to the families of the students who died,” Manjunath said.

The ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign begins

The lamp-lighting rally marked the first week of the Youth Congress’ “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign against NEET.The organization said the campaign will include social sessions, anti-NEET concerts, motivational speeches, walkathons and outreach programs every weekend. Volunteers are also visiting colleges and universities to enroll students, aiming to enroll 1.5 lakh students.Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Manjunath said that the work will continue until the grievances of the students are resolved.“There is no political value than the future of the students… The Youth Congress will continue to stand with the students until the movement reaches its logical conclusion,” he said.According to that WHOCongress National Secretary Tariq Bhagwan, State Legal Cell President Sridhar, Bengaluru North District President Rahul Gowda, Bengaluru South District President Monish Reddy, Bengaluru East District President Ram Nayak and other leaders also participated in the protest.(with organizational inputs)
