Tamil star Dhanush became emotional as he paid his last tribute to veteran filmmaker and actor K. Bhagyaraj. The legendary filmmaker passed away on June 27 at the age of 73, leaving the Kollywood industry in deep shock.

Several actors, filmmakers and political leaders visited them to offer their condolences. Dhanush was among those who attended the funeral and paid tribute to the late filmmaker. A clip from media outlet IANS captures the actor arriving at the venue.

Later, according to a report in the Free Press Journal, Dhanush was seen struggling to control his emotions as he stood in front of Bhagyaraj’s mortal remains. Dhanush was also seen consoling Bhagyaraj’s family members during the last rites. He hugged them and offered his support during the difficult time.In a clip doing rounds on the internet, Dhanush quietly left the funeral without speaking to the media after paying his respects. They escorted him to his car. Fans got emotional after watching the videos. They expressed their sadness and recalled the close bond the actor shared with Bhagyaraj. Dhanush always had great respect for K. Bhagyaraj and often admired him as one of the best storytellers in Tamil cinema. Although they never worked together in a full-length film, Bhagyaraj appeared in Dhanush’s directorial debut ‘Pa Paandi’ in 2017. He played the younger version of Rajkiran’s character in the film.

K. Bhagyaraj died after suffering cardiac arrest. Reports said he complained of chest pain and was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai, where doctors declared him brought dead.Bhagyaraj was one of the most respected filmmakers, actors and screenwriters in Tamil cinema. He is survived by his wife, actor Poornima Bhagyaraj, son Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and daughter Saranya.
