Imtiaz Ali‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ has turned out to be a box office success story, with powerful word of mouth helping it overcome a slow start and build strong momentum in its first two weeks in theatres, eventually crossing the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film has entered its third week in theaters.

The love story set in the Partition era was critically acclaimed but struggled to make a big impact at the box office in its first week, earning around Rs 12.25 crore in its first seven days. The second week, however, told a very different story as audiences turned up in large numbers following strong word-of-mouth buzz.On the 15th, the Diljit Dosanjh starrrer registered a growth of 21.2% over the previous day’s gains. According to Sacnilk report, the film collected Rs 2.85 crore from 1952 shows. The total net collection in India now stands at Rs 37.65 crore, while the gross collection in India has reached Rs 44.85 crore.

Internationally, the film added Rs 25 lakh on the 15th, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 13.80 crore. Combined with the domestic figures, the worldwide gross of Main Vaapas Aaunga now stands at Rs 58.65 crore.
