A municipal court has once again issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against the actor Prakash Raj in connection with a case involving alleged multiple voter registrations. The latest incident came after the actor failed to appear before the court despite earlier summons and orders. According to court records, this is the third time a bond has been issued in this case. The case is currently being heard in Bengaluru, with the next hearing scheduled for July 25.

The last court hearing leads to a new court order

The latest NBW was issued on June 12 following a petition filed by Bangalore-based lawyer K. Dilip Kumar. As reported by Live Law, the court noted that Prakash Raj had failed to appear before it despite repeated opportunities. The actor was reportedly issued summonses earlier, followed by warrants when he failed to attend the proceedings. With no appearance recorded, the court decided to re-issue the non-bailable order and continue the case. The matter will now come up again during the hearing set for July 25.

The case concerns alleged multiple voter registrations

The case revolves around allegations that Prakash Raj’s name appeared in the electoral rolls of more than one state. According to the complaint, apart from being registered as a voter in Bengaluru’s Shanthinagar Assembly constituency, his name was also allegedly found in the electoral registers of Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Serilingampally in Telangana. This was followed by legal action against the party under certain clauses of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.

Court proceedings continue ahead of the July hearing

Records show that a subpoena was issued to the actor after the court took up the case. When that summons failed to be served, the court issued its first non-bailable order on March 17, 2026. The order was subsequently issued again in April and again in June after Prakash Raj failed to appear before the court. With the latest order in effect, the case remains under judicial consideration.
