Salman Khan tells 19-year-old Dia Mirza that she will one day play her mother on screen: ‘The actress who played her mother just had a baby’ |

Salman Khan told 19-year-old Dia Mirza that she will one day play her mother on screen:

Dia Mirza won hearts the moment she made her debut in ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ opposite R Madhavan, after winning a beauty pageant. Over the years, Dia continues to be loved and remembered for her debut film. She has gone on to star in many other films, and while some of them may not have done exceptionally well, they are still important to her. In a recent interaction with Farah Khan for the latter’s vlog on his Youtube channel, Dia showed off his property in Mumbai that he bought with his earnings from ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’ starring salman khan.During the conversation, Farah recalled a particularly chaotic filming experience. “Remember we were shooting a song and a crowd of about 2 lakh people had gathered. How did we get out of there and back to the hotel?” Farah then recalled filming a song sequence in a fort, saying, “We shot that song in half a day. He also used to change clothes very quickly, behind a tree, without vans. Salman used to change standing there. When Farah suggested that Dia should reunite with Salman on screen, the actor replied, “But now he will work with girls who are…” Interrupting her, Farah commented, “No, he is already working with Chitrangada.”Day later he shared a funny memory involving Salman from the early days of his career. “But he told me in my first film, you’re going to play the role of my mother one day,” she said with a laugh. Recalling the incident, he added, “I was 19. Me, Rajpal Yadav and SK were sitting waiting for a shot, when I saw the actress playing his mother, she had just had a baby. So I said she must be quite young, she’s playing your mother, and she said don’t worry, this will happen to you too.Farah continued the joke by saying, “If there is a mother’s role in Matrabhoomi, Salman will just tell me.” Later in the vlog, Farah teased her cook Dilip, saying, “She’s going to play Salman Khan’s mother in a project.” “Not right now,” he replied.Farah then asked, “Will she look like her mother?” To this, Dilip replied, “She will look like her younger sister.”“Why can’t she look like her heroine, why did you have to say little sister?” Farah joked. The conversation eventually turned to Dia’s house and what it means to her. Opening up about the property, the actor said, “This is my place of sanctuary. When the city starts making a lot of noise, I run and come here. This is my refuge. This is the first house that a woman in my family has owned. No one has ever had a house. I was 19 when I bought it, with the money earned from Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.”The two also fondly recalled shooting the popular song ‘Bindiya Chamke, Choodi Khanke’ in Jaipur, which was choreographed by Farah Khan.Released in 2002 and directed by Pankaj Parashar‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’ featured Salman Khan, Dia Mirza, Sushmita Sen i Arbaaz Khan in key roles. Despite its star-studded cast, the film failed to make an impact at the box office.
