Skoda Slavia facelift is tested again in spy photos: interior and design changes

The Skoda Slavia sedan makes its global debut in 2021. Now, nearly five years later, the model is getting its first mid-life facelift, bringing with it a host of design and feature updates. Over the past few months, the upcoming Slavia facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times, and each appearance has revealed something new. New spy shots of the Slavia facelift have surfaced, revealing more details about the sedan’s upcoming updates. The latest images also offer a glimpse inside the cabin, although much of the dashboard remains hidden under heavy camouflage.

The spy photos give us a first look at the interior of the facelifted Slavia. While camouflage still covers much of the dashboard, the cabin layout appears to be largely unchanged. A freestanding infotainment screen and the existing steering wheel design can be seen in the test vehicle. As per the updates introduced with the Kushaq facelift, the Slavia is expected to get a larger touchscreen, updated digital instrument cluster and new interior options. Mechanically, it is expected to remain unchanged, retaining the same engine options. Like the Kushaq, Skoda is expected to introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the earlier 6-speed gearbox. The other engine is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.In terms of design, it is expected to feature a redesigned fascia with sharper headlights, a revised grille that includes a connected light strip similar to the Kushaq facelift and a new bumper design. On the sides, the sedan is likely to get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates may include a redesigned decklid, slimmer taillight housings, and other subtle styling enhancements. The sedan will also feature dynamic turn signals. The current model uses halogen indicators at both ends; the facelifted model will be replaced with LED units. Updated combination lights with dynamic turn signals will be placed in the lower exterior section, with an inside-out animation similar to that found on high-end sedans.Photo credit: Rushlane/Instagram
