Made-in-India Mini Countryman C priced at Rs 47.50 lakh: Details

Mini India has finally launched the Made-in-India Mini Countryman C in the Indian market today. The new Mini Countryman C will be produced locally at the BMW Group’s plant in Chennai and is priced at Rs 47.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings have already started; interested customers can reserve the car exclusively through Mini dealers, with deliveries starting soon. The new Mini Countryman C will compete with the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and other entry-level luxury SUVs in the same price range.Let’s talk about the engine first. The new Mini Countryman C is equipped with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine with a power of 156 horsepower and 240 Nm. It is equipped with a 7-speed DCT gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. The same engine is also at work in the BMW X1, but here it’s been tweaked to produce more power. The Mini Countryman C is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.0 seconds and has a top speed of 212 km/h. It comes with a 60-litre fuel tank and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.92 kpl. The MINI Countryman is built on the front-wheel drive UKL2 platform, which it shares with the BMW X1, which is also assembled in India.In terms of design, Mini Countryman C continues the design cues of the JCW version and the electric version in terms of overall design elements such as headlight design, taillights, and wheel hub design. At the front, it sports round headlights paired with a squarer grille, as well as an upright nose and revised bumpers, giving it a more rugged look than earlier models.

From the side, the design shifts to a more boxy profile, with a flat roofline, upright stance and square wheel arches. The longer wheelbase helps improve proportions and interior space. The rear remains simple, with LED taillights featuring a modern lighting signature, a clean tailgate design and simple details.Moving inside, it features a revised cabin layout that focuses on a cleaner, more modern design while retaining key brand elements. Features include a circular 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen, head-up display, steering wheel controls, 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 360-degree camera, panoramic glass sunroof, power front seats, wireless phone charging and parking assist. The driver’s seat also has a massage function.Rear seat passengers enjoy sliding seats with an adjustment range of up to 130 mm and a tilt function of up to 25 degrees. Boot capacity is 505 liters, which can be expanded to 1,450 liters with the rear seats folded. The SUV also offers connected car technology, ambient lighting, MINI Digital Key Plus and eight MINI Experience driving modes. Its safety suite includes ADAS features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, attention assist, active pedestrian protection and reverse assist. The Countryman C received a Euro NCAP five-star safety rating.
