In a recent interview, the pair revisited the early days of their romance, revealing how a simple Twitter exchange in 2016 ended up turning into one of Hollywood’s most beloved relationships. The couple talked about their first conversation on the July 14 episode of ‘Hey Jonas,’ where joe jonas i Kevin Jonas hilariously reads his old messages while Priyanka and Nick sat holding his hand, laughing and shuddering at the memories. During the episode, Priyanka also shared the surprising request Nick made after they switched from Twitter texting to texting, asking him to prove it was really her by sending a time-stamped photo.Their story began when Kevin Jonas asked Nick if he had seen ‘Quantico’, the ABC drama starring Priyanka Chopra from 2015 to 2018. Although Nick admitted he had never seen the show, seeing Priyanka on a poster for the series piqued his interest and prompted him to reach out. Joe Jonas read aloud Nick’s first direct message to Priyanka on Twitter.“Hello. I heard from some people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people… Are you in Los Angeles soon?” read Nick’s first message to Priyanka. By that time, their mutual friend Graham Rogers had already mentioned Nick to Priyanka. In response to his message, she suggested that they continue the conversation away from social media. “Hey… Graham told me a lot about you… We text. More private. My team can access it.“The pair then exchanged phone numbers and continued chatting via text. Recalling those early conversations, Kevin Jonas asked Nick to reveal the first message he sent to Priyanka’s number. Nick jokingly sidestepped the request and said, “You can’t see this one.” Priyanka, however, revealed exactly what happened next, explaining that Nick wanted to make sure she was actually texting him and not someone pretending to be the actor.“I’ll tell you what that first text was. He wanted to confirm that it was actually me. So he asked me for a photo at that moment looking into the camera with a time stamp. I said, “I’m already very worried about this guy.” But I also appreciated it,” said Priyanka.The couple also shared that although they first linked up in 2016, they didn’t start dating until about a year and a half later. Their whirlwind romance progressed quickly, and Nick and Priyanka got engaged just two and a half months after they officially started dating in July 2018.
