In a former appearance at director-choreographer Farah KhanOn chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein, the superstar shared a hilarious story about how Gauri tricked him into buying a handbag while he was recuperating in the hospital.During the conversation, Farah Khan congratulated Shah Rukh, saying, “I know you are a very generous husband and have given many gifts to Gauri.”Responding with a smile, Shah Rukh revealed that while he had gifted Gauri many things over the years, she often exchanged them for something she liked better.“Whenever I’ve given Gauri something, she’s accepted it. But 99.9% of the time, she’s returned it and bought something else,” he shared.Recalling a memorable incident, Shah Rukh said it happened while he was undergoing treatment in London after suffering a spinal injury.“I had suffered a spinal injury and had to stay in London for a month and a half to two months. I bought some T-shirts in a shop, but after I put them on I felt that they were not right. Since I was in the hospital, I asked Gauri to return the T-shirts and buy a cotton one,” he recalled.However, when Gauri returned, she was told that the store had refused to return the shirts.

The truth came out when some of Shah Rukh’s friends visited him in the hospital and said they had seen Gauri in the shop exchanging shirts.Instead of buying new clothes for her husband, she had bought a handbag.Laughing at the incident, Shah Rukh recalled Gauri’s justification: “She is in the hospital. Why does she have to wear new clothes?”The light-hearted story left both Farah Khan and the audience in splits, giving fans another glimpse into the couple’s playful relationship.
