As the debate rages online, attention has turned to the credentials that got him into office in the first place, credentials that the party announced when it announced it as its spokesperson on June 3.
A DTU degree is a research degree
Vijeta Dahiya is a student of Delhi Technological University (DTU), one of the leading engineering institutes in India. When the CJP announced his appointment, he listed the course as a multi-faceted field, describing him as someone with extensive political experience and strategic analysis. A number of media reports have identified him as a contributor to YouTuber Dhruv Rathee’s research and writing, placing him in the ranks of political producers who work behind the camera as much as in front of it.It is this part of his history that the CJP leaned heavily on during his appointment. An engineering degree combined with a career in political science is an unusual combination, and it seems to be what made him such an interesting speaker: someone who can articulate the rigors of his technical education while also having an insight into political issues online.

Dahiya also worked as a writer and film producer. He is the author of two books, The Power of Nature and To Hell With That Jobboth are described in the press as bestsellers. His film career includes writing and directing Haryanvi films Darare and Opry Paraiplacing him within regional cinema and digital political discourse.A resume that was built around research, writing and analytical studies was, at the time of the election, sufficient evidence of the politics facing the people.
