Jason said he didn’t want to hear the full story and later turned down the project as he held Alphonse Puthren in high esteem. Instead, he encouraged the team to find someone more suitable for the role.Despite declining the offer, Jason described the experience as a proud and memorable moment in his life.
Vijay had earlier spoken about his son’s career choice
Earlier Vijay had shared during the promotions of ‘Beast’ in 2022, about his son’s future. The ‘Jana Nayagan’ actor had made it clear that the decision would always rest with Jason.Vijay had said, “I really don’t know what’s on his mind. I have no desire, it’s all in his interest. If he wants my support, he’ll have it.”He further added, “Some people have asked if he will act. Even then I will tell him the events and ask him to take a call. However, he said that he needs two years’ time. Meanwhile, the director of Premam, Alphonse Puthren, came to narrate a story and I thought it was for me, but he said it was for my son. It was a good story, but personally I thought it would be a beautiful story, but personally, I would like the side story of the project. When I told him, he still said he wanted more time. Only he knows if he will be in front of the camera or behind it. I’ll be happy with whatever I do.”Jason will now make his directorial debut with ‘Sigma’, which he stars in Sundeep Kishan in the main role.
