‘Jana Nayagan’ marks their fifth collaboration
“Jana Nayagan” is Vijay and Anirudh’s fifth film together after “Kaththi”, “Master”, “Beast” and “Leo”. The latest action entertainer also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain and Priyamani in important roles. The film is an official remake of the Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari. It also has added significance as Vijay’s final acting project before his full-time political journey. It is also the first of his films to be released after he assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
‘Jana Nayagan’ continues with impressive box office performance
‘Jana Nayagan’ has maintained its strong momentum at the box office during its opening weekend. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 32 crore nett in India on Day 4, registering a healthy increase over its Day 3 collection of Rs 28.90 crore. With the latest numbers, the film’s India net collection has reached Rs 124.75 crore. Meanwhile, the gross collection in India stands at Rs 145.98 crore. The story revolves around a retired IPS officer who takes responsibility for a close friend’s daughter after her death. It encourages him to overcome his childhood trauma and inspires him to fulfill his ambition to join the Indian Army.
