UGC NET June 2026 answer key: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key for the UGC NET June 2026 exam soon on its official website. Although the exam ended with re-evaluation on July 5, 2026, the organization has not announced the release date of provisional answer keys or answer sheets.Based on the previous exam and press reports, the provisional answer keys and recorded answers are expected to be released in the third or fourth week of July 2026. Once released, candidates will be able to access the provisional answer key, question paper and answer sheet through their login details on the official UGC NET website.How aspirants can download the answer keyCandidates will visit the official website of UGC NET and select the link to use the UGC NET June 2026 answer key and challenge window. They must log in using their application number along with their date of birth or password and security pin displayed. After logging in, the selection dashboard will provide access to temporary answer keys, answer sheet and question paper, which can be downloaded in PDF format.The countermeasure is the maintenance costCandidates will be allowed to challenge the answer key once it is released. Each question requires a non-refundable fee of ?200 per question. If the experts of the subject accept the challenge, the money paid for the question will be returned directly to the bank account of the candidate. After reviewing all valid objections, NTA will publish the final answer key, which will be used to prepare the final scorecards.Exam details and qualificationsThe June 2026 exam covered 87 subjects, including the new Statistics and Forestry subjects. The computer-based test consisted of 150 objective type questions totaling 300 unmarked. Tests were conducted twice daily from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm and 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.9,93,702 people appeared for the exam, out of which 7,35,614 registered, resulting in a pass rate of 74 percent. The application process was opened on April 29, 2026 and closed on May 24, 2026. The results are expected in August 2026 after the objection process is completed. Only 6 percent of those will qualify for the position of Assistant Professor. In the last term of December 2025, 5,108 candidates got the Junior Research Fellowship.
