The news was shared online through his Facebook post, which confirmed that the actor had passed away peacefully and was surrounded by his family.The statement said: “It has been a long and painful journey filled with countless battles to overcome, including the gradual loss of his bodily autonomy. This past Sunday, after much consideration, Kjell decided to regain control of his pain and his body by stopping dialysis. On Thursday, Torsdag (Thor’s Day), July 2, Kjell died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his children. The days leading up to his death were filled with joy, gratitude, peace and acceptance. He did it his way.”Her family also shared more about her journey in their post and talked about how she had managed to defy all the odds. They revealed that after receiving his diagnosis in 2022, the actor had been told he would not survive until Christmas; however, he had overcome it all and survived.They also wrote: “He proved the experts wrong until he was strong enough to ‘JUST WALK’. Even in his last days, many doctors could not fully explain how he had done it. Some referred to him as a walking miracle. But it was no miracle.
