The impressive debut of season 3 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. In addition to announcing the highly anticipated next episodes, the creators revealed that Simon Pegg will join the cast as the voice of the Balrog. Simon Pegg becomes the voice of Balrog
‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ announced surprises and cast members during its panel in Hall H, including showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay. The press release stated that more than 6,500 attendees were part of the show. Surprise appearances included four armored Nazgûl, the servants of Sauron’s ring, and the Second Age predecessors of the Nazgûl. Additionally, Simon Pegg joins the cast as the voice of the Balrog, the first time the creature will speak. Many creatures are joining the upcoming season, including Fell-beasts, Mumakil, Orgs, and Balrog.The official log for season three reads: “Season three takes place at the height of the War between the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to create the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will, and ultimately rule all of Middle-earth.”

Additional cast members joining for season three include Jamie Campbell Bower, Eddie Marsan, Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla and Adam Young.The third season will premiere on November 11, 2026, with four episodes, along with the fifth and sixth episodes on November 18, 2026, and the final two episodes on November 25, 2026.
