Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli is working on his next big project ‘Varanasi’ with a star cast included Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithiviraj Sukumaran. The film is currently in the production phase and it looks like the makers have around 80 days of shooting left before wrapping up.
More than 80 days left for the shooting of ‘Varanasi’
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the ‘Baahubali’ director attended the launch event of ‘RRR’ in France. During their interaction, he spoke about the progress of ‘Varanasi’. He said that only a small part of the shooting is left before the film is finished.Rajamouli said, “My producer is right there, so he didn’t let me reveal too much. I can say that we have finished the major parts of the action spectacle of the film and we have only small portions which will be completed in 80 days.”
Mass shooting of ‘Varanasi’ scheduled
On the other hand, a few days ago, a midday report claimed that the team is gearing up for a new shooting schedule starting July 7 in Hyderabad. Mahesh Babu is expected to shoot with nearly 3,500 junior artistes. The team has been preparing for this sequence for many weeks. The war episode is said to be one of the biggest scenes that SS Rajamouli has ever planned. The scenes to be shot in Hyderabad will be just the beginning of this massive sequence.
About ‘Varanasi’
Talking about ‘Varanasi’, the film is said to be a time-traveling action-adventure film, which follows a devotee of Shiva who travels through different time periods to find a lost cosmic artifact with great power.Mahesh Babu plays Rudhra in the film. Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays Mandakini, while Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen as Kumbha as the main antagonist.‘Varanasi’ is slated to release in worldwide theaters on April 7, 2027.
