Shah Rukh Khan received a warm welcome in Mangalore when he attended a special event on June 25. At the event, the Bollywood superstar got candid with fans about her life, her journey in the film industry and also delighted many by sharing the story behind one of her most famous childhood photographs.Speaking to the cheering crowd, Shah Rukh pulled out the iconic image, which shows him as a toddler sitting on a bucket, with his hair pinned up and soap on his cheek. Opening up about the story behind the cute picture, she shared, “As inappropriate as it may seem right now, because my poor boy is without clothes. This is the only photo I have of my childhood, which is in Mangalore, with no clothes in the bucket.”

The actor, who made his big screen debut in director Raj Kanwar’s 1992 romantic drama ‘Deewana’, was also seen taking the stage and performing some epic dance numbers for his adoring fans. Videos and pictures from the event went viral on social media, with fans swooning over the actor and his touching interaction.One such clip saw Shah Rukh greeting fans in Kannada before thanking them for the enthusiastic reception. “Thank you, Mangalore! First of all, when I came here, I didn’t know what to expect. But the warmth, the love, the kindness and the excitement, from the airport to the drive here, from all of you, felt so good to me.”

Although Shah Rukh was born in New Delhi in 1965, he spent his early childhood in Mangalore. The actor and his family resided there until he was about five years old.SRK’s visit comes in the middle of his ‘King’ shoot. The actor will be seen in a brand new avatar, for the action thriller, which will see him sharing the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time The film will also see him team up with an ensemble cast of Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and many more.The film which is said to be in the final stretch of shooting and post-production will hit the big screen on December 24.
