Saif Ali Khan he has opened up about the values he and his wife share kareena kapoor are inculcating in their sons, Taimur and Jehangir, when it comes to religion and faith. Speaking openly, the actor shared that he encourages his children to adopt an inclusive view of God, telling them, “There is only one God and He has many names.“
Saif Ali Khan opens up about faith and family values
During his appearance at the We Women’s London Edition, Saif spoke candidly about how he approaches the topic of religion with his sons Taimur and Jeh. He said: “It’s a conversation I love to have with them. Because I’m not the most religious of people myself. My mother taught me, and I taught my children, that there is one God and he has many names. It’s as simple as that. You worship him in different places. And if your religion talks about love and forgiveness towards your fellow man, that’s it.“
Saif Ali Khan remembers his childhood and Christian institutions
Saif also spoke about his childhood, recalling how Christian institutions were an important part of his upbringing. He mentioned that he regularly visited churches and went to schools where he started each morning with a chapel session. He revealed that “the children would say the prayer, followed by the prayers of other religions. They would celebrate Christmas as much as Diwali.”

The actor also brought up a recent exchange with Taimur that left him truly impressed. The actor had asked his nine-year-old son a question about the distinction between religion and methodology, and the boy’s response left Saif pleasantly surprised. He shared, “9-year-old Taimur answered, ‘In religion, we pray, and in methodology, we don’t,’ and I think that’s a good answer… So we’re constantly talking about these things. I’m lucky I didn’t grow up like that. My mother was open-minded about these things, and so was my wife. It’s more of a spiritual approach.”

Saif and Kareena met on the sets of ‘Tashan’ in 2007-08 and soon fell in love. After dating for almost five years, they tied the knot on October 16, 2012, in a small ceremony in Mumbai. The couple now have two children, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan.
