Rumer Willis recently gave fans and netizens a glimpse of what it was like for her to grow up in a Hollywood household. While speaking with PEOPLE about being the global ambassador for a homegrown hormone brand, the actress shared that she learned many values and lessons from her parents at an early age that she wants to teach her 3-year-old daughter Louetta.Adding more context, she shared, “I think the things that I really want to help support him with, that I feel like can get lost in the shuffle, are the things that my parents always taught me to have respect for. Not only did they tell me to have respect, but the way they modeled it without even saying it.”He further revealed that since he grew up on set with his parents, he was able to be a part of their lives on a regular basis and would always observe how they would treat everyone around them. He added: “I grew up on set, so both of my parents, no matter who it was, would always say ‘Hi’, they were incredibly nice, they made sure they met everyone and treated everyone with the same level of respect. And that’s something that, as an adult, I haven’t seen happen in different areas of my life. There shouldn’t be a hierarchy, and no matter what job you have, you should treat everyone with respect.”

She also shared that one of the main aspects of her childhood came from the fact that neither Willis nor Moore ever wanted to push their children in any specific direction. For the uninitiated, Rumer has two sisters: Scout, who is 35, and Tallulah, who is 32.He added more context, sharing that: “They let us wear whatever we wanted to school and let us be weird. Just whimsical, magic and so much silliness. I remember my sisters licking my face when I was little and my dad doing silly things. There would be kids on holiday being silly with their parents, but it would be like, ‘so bad’ they’re just silly kids.”He concluded his statement, sharing that “I think it’s really important to let kids be kids and let them discover the world. It’s something I’m very grateful to my parents for.”Willis and Moore divorced and officially separated in 2000; however, over the years, the two remained close friends and kept in touch. As of now, Willis has retired after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. He currently lives in a separate home from his family, with permanent care available to him, along with frequent visits from family and friends.
