ROHTAK: In a bid to revamp education in government schools, the Rohtak district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, has launched two high-quality programmes. The initiatives, namely the “15-Minute Daily Reading Challenge” and “Project Vishwas,” are aimed at improving quality of education and promoting the development of students across the district.In the Monthly Review Meeting of the Department of School Education and Samagra Shiksha, the findings of the Skill Assessment Program (CRP) and Digital Skill Passbook were discussed. Although students showed good growth in early reading and numeracy, the evaluation highlighted difficulties in reading non-visual passages and comprehension. In order to bridge this gap, the 15 Minutes Daily Reading Challenge has been implemented in all Primary Schools of the Government. After the Zero Period, students spend fifteen minutes each day reading books of their choice – such as storybooks, biographies, and newspapers – under teacher supervision to develop lifelong reading habits.At the same time, Project Vishwas, managed by DIET Madina, has been set up in 43 Cluster Resource Centers (CRCs) for students of Class VI to VIII. The project aims to develop communication confidence, leadership, academic resilience, and life skills through activities such as drama, group discussions, and public speaking. Special training for team leaders and teachers was completed in June, and the project is being monitored every week.In addition, progress was reviewed on other key services, including the Digital Skill Passbook, which tracks individual skills to support targeted training. The DC also appreciated the success of Joyful Holiday, Mathematics Olympiad Coaching in 25 schools, and Super-40 Program for IIT-JEE/NEET aspirants.In addition, the administration reviewed the infrastructure works of Samagra Shiksha and ordered regular inspections of PM POSHAN Mid-Day Meals to ensure cleanliness and proper nutrition. DC Sachin Gupta urged all the teachers to work in a mission to establish Rohtak as the center of education in Haryana.
