‘Ramayana’ is still months away from its release, but producer Namit Malhotra is already building anticipation for the film’s arrival this Diwali.Malhotra, who supports Nitesh Tiwari’s direction, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi i Yash in lead roles, in his latest interview, expressed his confidence that the film will become a landmark moment for Indian cinema. The production company has opted for a more intimate promotion strategy by hosting screenings for different sections of fans, influencers and online content creators over the past few months.In one such interview with a content creator, Namit spoke about the ambitious mythological epic. When asked about the technological innovations showcased in the film and if there were aspects in the visual effects that audiences might overlook, Malhotra said, “I think there are 2-3 things I don’t want to say today. I just wish the audience would see it first. If they don’t notice, we will be very successful. That’s why, by saying it now, I don’t want to warn anyone”.He was also asked about comparisons with Christopher NolanThe next mythological epic ‘The Odyssey’. The film, which is a retelling of the Greek epic, has been generating huge buzz worldwide ahead of its July 17 release. Asked if “Ramayana,” with its deeply rooted Indian history, could create a similar level of excitement, Namit said, “I think it’s in our hands as Indians, what path and position we take it, with belief, in front of the world.”Talking about his team’s work at the technical level, he said, “We are doing our best from our side. We are working hard because we are doing our best. With everyone’s passion or enthusiasm, this will become a proud moment for all Indians around the world.”‘Ramayana’ is one of the most ambitious and expensive Indian films ever made. The film will be released as a two-part film adaptation, featuring Ranbir as Lord Ram, Sai as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The first installment is slated for a Diwali 2027 release, while ‘Ramayana: Part 2’ is slated for a Diwali 2028 release.
